Wildflower Turf Limited is committed to playing a leading role in minimising the impact of its activities on the environment.

In order to achieve this, Wildflower Turf Limited will assess, on an ongoing basis, its key environmental impacts and formulate a plan to mitigate any negative consequences of these.

The key environmental impacts from its commercial activities have been identified as:

Energy use
Transport and use of diesel
Single use plastics
The use of peat as a growing medium

In order to mitigate the impacts identified Wildflower Turf Limited will do the following:

Energy use

Monitor energy use throughout the business and encourage energy saving wherever possible.
Explore and employ viable options for the use of greener or renewable energy.

Transport and the use of diesel

Monitor diesel use in the business and encourage diesel waste reduction strategies.
Actively look into the viability of low or zero carbon vehicles.

Single use plastics

Identify and reduce the use of single use plastics wherever possible.
Encourage the recycling of plastic wherever possible.

In line with wider societal concerns regarding the amount of plastic in products and packaging, and in line with its own environmental policy, Wildflower Turf Limited is committed to recycling plastic wherever possible and reducing its use of all forms plastic each year. The use of peat as a growing medium

Reduce the reliance on peat as a growing medium on an annual basis.
In line with the England Peat Action Plan from Defra, eliminate the use of peat in products by 2029.

In line with public concern about the damage peat extraction does to our natural environment, and in line with its own environmental policy, Wildflower Turf Limited is committed to an annual reduction in its use of peat as a growing medium and, aligned with the England Peat Plan aim to eliminate the use of peat by 2030.
